Winner of Apprenticeship Company of the Year 2025

ABENA’s production facility in Aabenraa has received the title “Apprenticeship Company of the Year 2025” by EUC Syd Lillebælt.

The award comes after apprentice Viorel Popa submitted a nomination, highlighting his professional journey, the sense of community, and supportive collaboration with colleagues and managers. Or put in his own words:

“ABENA is an exceptional workplace where the values of Trust, Fairness, and Collaboration permeate everyday life.”

An award rooted in a strong culture

For ABENA, the award is more than a recognition of our training program. It reflects our values in action.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this award”, says Jane Aakjær Madsen, HR Manager at ABENA Produktion A/S. “But the biggest honor is knowing that one of our own felt so supported that he nominated us. That says everything about the culture we strive for here”.

ABENA’s approach to apprenticeships is based on trust, fairness, and cooperation – the same values that guide the rest of the business.

“We see apprenticeships as a long-term investment – in people and in our shared future. We don’t just teach skills; we build confidence, create belonging, and offer real career paths”, adds Jane Aakjær Madsen.

Looking ahead to the national stage

With the local award now in hand, ABENA is now excited to see if the prize will be followed by a nomination for the national competition to become the Apprenticeship Workplace of the Year 2025.

“No matter the outcome, this has already been a win for our entire team”, says Jane Aakjær Madsen. “We’re proud of Viorel, proud of our colleagues in production – and proud to show what’s possible when we grow together”.
