Incontinence can present different challenges depending on the individual and the situation. For some people, the challenge is rapid bladder voiding or large volumes of urine released over a short period of time. For others, body position, such as sleeping on the side, can increase the risk of leakage. And at night, longer periods between checks and changes make reliable, high-performing protection particularly important. When a product cannot absorb quickly enough, does not have sufficient capacity, or does not provide the right protection for the user’s position, the result can be leakage, discomfort and additional changes — or the need for boosters and extra padding. It’s a workaround, not a solution.

What rapid bladder voiding actually means for care

Not all heavy incontinence looks the same. For some people, the challenge isn't the total volume of urine produced, but the speed at which it's released. Rapid bladder voiding means a large amount is discharged in a very short time, faster than a standard product can absorb. The result is leakage, even when the product's overall absorbency level should technically be sufficient.

Rapid bladder voiding can be particularly challenging at night, when there may be longer periods between checks and changes. The consequences can include leakage, disturbed sleep, discomfort, and additional changes that could otherwise have been avoided.

Introducing ABENA Slip Premium M5 & L5

ABENA Slip Premium M5 and L5 are designed for people with rapid bladder emptying and large urine volumes released over a short period of time. With faster absorption and higher capacity, they provide reliable protection when the absorbency level currently in use is not sufficient.

This makes them suitable for use throughout the day and night. The higher absorbency can also help reduce the need for nighttime changes, supporting longer periods of uninterrupted sleep.

ABENA Slip Premium M5 offers high-capacity protection for people with rapid or heavy bladder voiding.

ABENA Slip Premium L5 provides the same level of protection in a larger fit.


Why we developed ABENA Slip Premium M5 & L5

The existing Slip Premium range has long been trusted for moderate to heavy incontinence. But over time, it became clear that a specific group of users, those with faster, more explosive voiding, were being underserved. Care facilities were finding ways to compensate, but compensation isn't care. We developed M5 and L5 to give care teams a proper solution for a need that has been there all along.

Our updated Slip range offers:

  • Better support at night
  • Extra protection for side-sleepers
