Introducing ABENA Light Super 4+ and Maxi Plus 5

Even light incontinence can affect comfort, confidence and daily routines. But when there are too few options between small and large products, people may end up using a product with more absorbency than they actually need. That can reduce breathability, trap heat and moisture against the skin, and increase the risk of IAD. And when a product feels bulkier than necessary, it may also make discreet management more difficult.

How the gap in light incontinence protection affects daily life

Light incontinence looks different from person to person. For some, it's occasional small incidents. For others, it's a manageable but consistent need that still allows for an active and independent daily life. What these people have in common is that they don't need heavy protection, and giving them more than they need has real consequences.

Without enough options in the light range, care teams are forced to make a jump from small pads to significantly larger products before the person is ready for that step. A product that's too absorbent reduces breathability and increases the risk of IAD. A product that feels too big affects how the person sees themselves and how confidently they move through their day.

Introducing ABENA Light Super 4+ and Maxi Plus 5

The ABENA Light range is expanding to close this gap. Two new additions fill the space between light pads and heavier protection, giving care teams more options to match the product to the person, not the other way around.

ABENA Light Super 4+ bridges the gap for those who need a little more than a standard light pad, without stepping up to a larger product.

ABENA Light Maxi Plus 5
offers more coverage with a more asymmetrical shape and split peel-off tape for secure fixation in the person’s own underwear, helping the product stay comfortably in place throughout the day.

Both products are available from November 2026.

Why we developed ABENA Light Super 4+ and Maxi Plus 5

The light incontinence segment has seen growing demand, particularly as more people entering care settings have complex health needs that don't necessarily come with heavy incontinence. The range needed to reflect that reality. We developed these two new products to give care teams the tools to truly individualize light incontinence care, so no one has to use more or bigger products than their situation actually calls for.

Our expanded Light range gives caregivers more to work with:

  • More products to choose from, to better match individual needs
  • Split peel-off tape for secure fixation in the user’s own underwear or fixation pants for a closer, more secure fit
  • Higher absorbency that closes the gap to our San range
    - without stepping up to a larger, less discreet product
