The report also marks a new chapter for ABENA. Our results and progress are now being measured using an updated methodology and baseline, giving a more transparent inside into our emissions in the value-chain.
“For us, ESG is not just about reporting and compliance. It’s about strengthening our company and our ability to create long-term value together with our stakeholders in a world of rising demands and expectations,” explains Eva Tansem Andersen, Global Sustainability Manager.

Towards more long-term value
At the same time, ABENA is taking proactive steps to align reporting with the impending requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).“For us, ESG is not just about reporting and compliance. It’s about strengthening our company and our ability to create long-term value together with our stakeholders in a world of rising demands and expectations,” explains Eva Tansem Andersen, Global Sustainability Manager.
Solving challenges in collaboration
The report highlights emissions from purchased electricity and external sources outside the company’s control as the biggest hurdles moving forward.“Addressing these challenges will require even closer collaboration with suppliers, customers and partners on solutions, which we in ABENA believe is an important step towards reducing our footprint and strengthen resilience across our value chain,” Eva Tansem Andersen says.
