The United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals consist of 17 specific goals and 169 targets. These are a call for action made by all countries - poor, rich, and middle-income – to take action and promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
The UN SDG's recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
According to the United Nation, sustainable development can be defined as development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Furthermore, sustainable development calls for united efforts towards building an inclusive, sustainable, and resilient future for people and the planet.
At ABENA, sustainability is a part of our DNA. We aim to have all of our activities carried out with a focus on sustainability, and we commit to four of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals to drive a positive change for nature and society towards 2030.
