The concept of FSC™, Forest Stewardship Council™, was designed back in 1990 in California, as a reaction to an accelerating deforestation. The idea behind the FSC was to create a certification system that set the standards for responsible forestry as well as protected the foresters’ health and safety.
When buying an FSC-certified product, you can be certain that the product is made from material originating from forests, where more trees are planted than felled. Thus, by buying FSC-certified Abena products, you contribute to protecting the forests around the world.

- You find FSC-certified Abena products within the categories of incontinence products, baby diapers and paper material.
- All FSC forests follow the 10 principles of the FSC that combined generate sustainable forests.
- As of November 2015, 150 Abena products are certified with the FSC, but in the beginning of 2016 this number will reach more than 500.
