As the first and only producer of baby diapers, Abena has been awarded the EU Ecolabel.
The EU Ecolabel is a voluntary scheme founded in 1992 by the European Commission in order to set a common European standard for environmental labelling. It has not been possible to buy baby diapers certified with the EU Ecolabel before 2014.
This September Abena Production A/S was – as the first and only producer of baby diapers – awarded this prestigious label on the products; Bambo Nature Midi Plus, Bambo Nature Maxi Plus and Bambo Nature Junior Plus.
To be certified with the EU Ecolabel, all stages in the production of any given product must comply with the standards set. Therefore products bearing the label are of good quality and high performance.
“We have always believed in sustainability and in protecting the environment. This care for our planet is still an essential part of our strategy today, and having been awarded the EU Ecolabel is yet another validation of our eco-friendly work,” says CEO of Abena Produktion, Arne Terp-Nielsen.
