At ABENA, quality is key. Emphasis on the highest quality in our processes,
workflows, own production, and products are crucial to us - and always with sustainability in mind.
We provide our customers with knowledge and documentation,
and our products are continuously tested by our in-house laboratory,
third party labs, and various certification organizations.
In ABENA, we think globally but act locally. We have more than 40 years of experience with global sourcing, and now we have sourcing offices around the world.
Our own production is responsible. We give our products a clean beginning of their lifecycle and are always optimizing our use of raw materials by securing sustainable development.
Today our own production facilities are covered by 100% renewable energy, and we have reduced our C02 emissions on diapers per unit by 70,23% since 2009.
In ABENA we are a long way, but we aim for more.
Our ecolabeled products make it easy for our customers to choose the best products within a category. Ecolabels are an indication that a product is produced with care for nature, based on criteria specific to that product or production process.
We have always put great emphasis on ecolabels and our baby diapers were the first diapers in the world to be certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
A large part of our products and production facilities are certified with a long list of internationally acknowledged labeling schemes and independent third parties. These help customers and companies to assess whether products are produced, used, and dispensed responsibly.
At ABENA, we support the United Nation's Global Compact (UNGC) and the Foreign Trade Association's Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). Each year, we report the results of our work with social and environmental responsibility with these organizations.
We comply with the UNGC’s 10 principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, and it is important to us that our partners follow the same standards we do. Each year, we complete a status report on our work, which is published on the UNGC website for the public to see.
