Abena develops sustainable drinking cups for the future

This week Abena participated in the Danish Championships for sustainable drinking cups. Along with the Danish confederation of Industry (DI), several business partners as well as competitors from the industry, Abena presented sustainable solutions to those single-use cups that are set to be phased out across Europe – including in Copenhagen Municipality.
As Tommy Husen, Group Purchasing manager says: “Sustainability has always been a part of Abena’s DNA. That is why we are developing the most sustainable drinking cup. And we will keep on challenging the industry in our search for sustainable solutions.”
Close cooperation is key to sustainable solutions

In addition, Hanne Juhler from Abena A/S participated in the event, but the results are due to the close cooperation of an interdisciplinary team with participants from different companies and specialties.
The results of the interdisciplinary work in already starting to show. Next week Abena’s cups will be there when DI hosts the C40 World Mayors Summit in Copenhagen. Abena has also been chosen to work with several business partners to continue the development of sustainable cups for big events in the future.
